SHOTGUN

Introductory Shotgun ClinicInterested in learning about shotgun shooting? This clinic is taught by Caesar Guerini & Cabela’s Pro Staff shooter Mark Taylor. Mark has over 40 years of shooting experience. He is the author of one of the bestselling books on sport psychology techniques for trap, skeet and sporting clays “Clay Target Shooting – The Mental Game” and co-author of the book “Break ‘em All”. This hands-on clinic is designed to introduce men and women, who have no shooting experience with the shotgun disciplines (trap, skeet & sporting clays), with proper instruction in a classroom and range setting. The clinic is focused on learning rules and safety, practical handling and shooting skills and range procedures and etiquette.

2024 Dates:   Saturday, May 11th; Sunday, June 9th; Saturday, July 13th; Saturday, September 14th

Times:   8:00 am – 11:00 am

Cost:   $125.00

The fee includes targets. Eye and ear protection, ammunition (50 rounds) and shotgun are not included and must be supplied by participant. Rental shotguns are available for $25.00.

NRA Basic Shotgun Class: This course will help the new shooter get started and become familiar with the most common types of shotguns – semi-automatic, break action and pumps.  It will cover topics such as safety, nomenclature and function, along with proper shooting stance, gun hold, eye hold, lead and follow through. We’ll discuss correct loading and unloading techniques and you’ll learn valuable Dry Practice skills that will allow you to practice on your own at home. We’ll also discuss cleaning and maintenance of your firearm. Rentals are available if the student does not have one – this is a great way to find out which one is best before making a purchase.

 CONCEALED CARRY

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home: This course qualifies you to apply for your Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit in your county of residence and includes a certificate of completion for inclusion in your application packet. This course includes topics such as mindset including situational awareness, tactics, skills development, holsters and carry positions, and discussions about the use of deadly force.  Live range shooting is included and required to complete this course and is scheduled on an individual basis. Have a group interested? Special, private class times can be arranged.

USCCA Conceal Carry Fundamentals: This course qualifies you to apply for your Colorado Concealed Firearm Permit with your county of residence and includes a certificate of completion for inclusion in your application packet. This course includes basic handgun familiarization and nomenclature, legal, financial, emotional and social considerations for concealed carry, and discussions about the use of deadly force.  Live range shooting is not part of the course but is recommended and can be scheduled on an individual basis. Have a group interested? Special, private class times can be arranged.

HANDGUN

NRA Basic Pistol Class/ Handgun 101: This course will help the new shooter get started and become familiar with the 2 most common types of handguns – semi-automatic and revolvers.  It will cover topics such as safety, nomenclature, and function, along with proper handgun grip and shooting stance, proper sight picture, sight alignment, front sight focus, trigger control, and follow-through. We’ll discuss correct loading and unloading techniques and you’ll learn valuable Dry Practice skills that will allow you to practice on your own at home. We’ll also discuss cleaning and maintenance of your firearm. Instructors will provide handguns if the student does not have one – this is a great way to find out which one is best before making a purchase.

RIFLE

NRA Basic Rifle Class/ Rifle 101: This course will help the new shooter get started and become familiar with the 3 most common types of rifles – bolt action, semi-automatic and lever action.  It will cover topics such as safety, nomenclature, and function, along with proper rifle shooting stances, proper sight picture, sight alignment, breath control, hold control, trigger control, and follow-through. We’ll discuss correct loading and unloading techniques and you’ll learn valuable Dry Practice skills that will allow you to practice on your own at home. We’ll also discuss cleaning and maintenance of your firearm. The instructor will provide rifles if the student does not have one – this is a great way to find out which one is best before making a purchase.

Rifle Sight-In Clinics: Need help sighting in your rifle in anticipation of Big Game season? Our pros will help you zero in and answer your questions to help you get ready for your hunt. Proper preparation is the key to successful hunting.

RANGE SAFETY OFFICER

NRA Range Safety Officer:  This class is for students who wish to become a certified NRA Range Safety Officer.  Candidates must receive 90 percent or better on the written exam. NRA Range Safety Officers must be 21 years of age or older.  Course content includes RSO’s roles and responsibilities, Range standard operating procedures (SOP), Range inspections – indoor and outdoor, Range rules – safety, site-specific, administrative, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and Range Safety Briefings which include procedures to follow in the case of an emergency

HOME DEFENSE

NRA Personal Protection In the Home: Learn how to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of violent crime in the home.  Subjects covered include shooting techniques, firearm, and ammunition selection, clearing handgun stoppages, identifying and avoiding potential threats, improving home security, how to set up a safe room, legal aspects of gun ownership and self-defense, and the aftermath of a defensive shooting.  Live range shooting is included. Have a group interested? Special, private class times can be arranged.
