Women On Target
Introductory Shotgun Clinic
Saturday, November 1, 2014
9:00 am to 1:00 pm
This clinic is for women only and will focus on trapshooting and increasing general familiarity with clay target and shotgun shooting.
Topics include:
• Introduction to the Clay Target games
• Safety
• Fundamentals of hitting a clay target
• 75 rounds of trap shooting
This clinic will be taught by Mark Taylor (NRA Certified Advanced International Shotgun Coach and past Assistant National Shotgun Coach for USA Shooting). Here are his goals for this clinic:
“Following successful completion of this clinic, each participant should feel comfortable in the safe handling of a shotgun and the understanding of the foundational elements in hitting a clay target for all disciplines. In addition, each participant should have the knowledge and awareness to be able to feel confident enough to enjoy shooting trap by themselves, or with others. ”
Cost of the clinic is $200 per person and includes gun rental*, shells, clay targets, and lunch.
Attendance is limited to 5 shooters, so register early to reserve your spot by calling 303-659-7117 or dkraft@www.coloradoclays.com.
*note: a $25 cost reduction is permitted for individuals providing their own shotgun with prior approval from instructor.

Want to find out more about our spring trap leagues? Join the league coordinator from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm to get all your questions answered and to join the fun!
League shooting is a great way to get together and spend an evening at the shooting range with friends, co-workers and acquaintances. Trap leagues are also an excellent opportunity to further refine and hone your shooting skills, participate in some informal competition, and joust with fellow shooters in a friendly rivalry. And the camaraderie – what a great way to unwind after a tough day at the office or on the job. Colorado Clays currently runs two trap leagues during the course of the year.
League Details
Trap league teams consist of 5 shooters. Each team is pre-assigned a time slot (beginning at 4:30 pm and ending at 7:30 pm) to shoot every Wednesday for 12 weeks. Team members each shoot 50 targets (2 rounds) each week. The first round is shot from the 16 yard line and the second round yardage in determined by the team’s handicap, minimum 20 yard line. The Registration Fee is $50 per team and $18 per shooter each week. Each team is allowed 2 substitutes and there must be 3 shooters present in order for scores to count. Returning teams are guaranteed their previous time slot. New teams will be asked to provide their first and second time slot choices.
