Summer Bowling Pin League will be a 10-week league on Thursdays from June 12th through August 21st starting at 5:30pm. Please email amypropernick@gmail.com for more information or to register. Cost is $20 per evening with $10 going to payouts for the top 3 shooters each night. There will be a series point system with a grand prize going to the shooter with the most points throughout the league.
We will be shooting steel plates that are shaped like bowling pins. The league is a 5 Pin Head-to-Head Event (Double Elimination Bracket). Each night will be a different course of fire. You will shoot center fire pistols, rim fire pistols, pistol caliber carbines, rim fire rifles and shotguns throughout the league. Guns are available to borrow, if needed. Rifle 101: This course will help the new shooter get started and become familiar with the 3 most common types of rifles – bolt action, semi-automatic and lever action. It will cover topics such as safety, nomenclature and function, along with proper rifle shooting stances, proper sight picture, sight alignment, breath control, hold control, trigger control, and follow through. We’ll discuss correct loading and unloading techniques and you’ll learn valuable Dry Practice skills that will allow you to practice on your own at home. We’ll also discuss cleaning and maintenance of your firearm. Instructor will provide rifles if the student does not have one – this is a great way to find out which one is best before making a purchase.
