Rifle 101: This course will help the new shooter get started and become familiar with the 3 most common types of rifles – bolt action, semi-automatic and lever action. It will cover topics such as safety, nomenclature and function, along with proper rifle shooting stances, proper sight picture, sight alignment, breath control, hold control, trigger control, and follow through. We’ll discuss correct loading and unloading techniques and you’ll learn valuable Dry Practice skills that will allow you to practice on your own at home. We’ll also discuss cleaning and maintenance of your firearm. Instructor will provide rifles if the student does not have one – this is a great way to find out which one is best before making a purchase.

USCCA Conceal Carry Fundamentals w/ Range Time: This course qualifies you to apply for your Colorado Concealed Firearm Permit with your county of residence and includes a certificate of completion for inclusion in your application packet. This course includes basic handgun familiarization and nomenclature, legal, financial, emotional, and social considerations for concealed carry, and discussions about the use of deadly force. Live range shooting is optional but is recommended and can be scheduled on an individual basis. Have a group interested? Special, private class times can be arranged.

Topic: Intro to ARs
We will meet in the classroom first on this meeting. We will review the fundamentals of shooting a rifle and discuss the proper way to set up your bench rest position on the range. We will discuss the different sighting systems on the ARs – red dot, scope and iron sights. We will have dummy rounds available so you can safely practice the loading/unloading procedures and perform some dry presses before going to live fire.
On the range we will have you shoot from a bench rest position. We will have ARs chambered in .22LR and .223 for you to try.
