\n\nLeague shooting is a great way to get together a nd spend an evening at the shooting range with friends\, co-workers and ac quaintances. Trap leagues are also an excellent opportunity to further ref ine and hone your shooting skills\, participate in some informal competiti on\, and joust with fellow shooters in a friendly rivalry. And the camarad erie – what a great way to unwind after a tough day at the office or on th e job. Colorado Clays currently runs two trap leagues during the course of the year.

\nTrap league team
s consist of 5 shooters. Each team is pre-assigned a time slot (beginning
at 4:30 pm and ending at 7:30 pm) to shoot every Wednesday for 12 weeks. T
eam members each shoot 50 targets (2 rounds) each week. The first round is
shot from the 16 yard line and the second round yardage in determined by
the team’s handicap\, minimum 20 yard line. The Registration Fee is $50 pe
r team and $18 per shooter each week. Each team is allowed 2 substitutes a
nd there must be 3 shooters present in order for scores to count. Returnin
g teams are guaranteed their previous time slot. New teams will be asked t
o provide their first and second time slot choices.

\nMatch will start with a brief safety meeting after which every one will be given a number and randomly placed in a bracket. Shooters will be called by their number to compete against each other in a head-to-head \, double elimination bracket. Winners will be determined by who knocks th eir pins completely off the table before their opponent at 10 yards. Only the top portion of the pin is used in the .22LR Match. The winner of each round will advance in the winners’ bracket and loser will be moved to a l ower bracket. You will compete until you have lost twice.

\nTime for a field trip! We will need to travel to Gre
at Guns in Nunn\, CO to use their 3-sided berms to be able to shoot live r
ounds at a remote-controlled robot (think mannequin on wheels) – Vic the V
illain. This will take place in a defensive scenario where the robot will
be controlled to either come toward you (attack) or go away from you (retr
eat). You must decide when is the appropriate time to defend yourself. If

\nOur most popular meeting! Bring your own pumpkin and “ca
rve” it using your pistol. Remember that .22LR will give you the most prec
ise carving. Larger calibers create more damage. Hollowpoints will result
in a pile of pumpkin guts! Feel free to decorate your pumpkin ahead of tim
e. We will hold a competition for the Best Shooting\, Most Creative and We
ll… Nice Try!
\nOn the range the pumpkin carving will be held on the
rifle side of the range. We will take 4 shooters at a time over to carve t
heir pumpkins. While waiting your turn we will have pumpkin-themed targets
to shoot on the pistol side of the range.
